In order to further promote hot air balloon pilot and crew skills and to create opportunities to fulfill requirements for pilot and crew achievement award programs, the BFA International Long Jump Challenge and Team Challenge have been established. In this Challenge, the pilots are scored on the distance traveled on one continuous flight with a limited allowance of fuel.
