Description

Join us for the most anticipated and colorful weekends of the summer. The 39th Annual Hot Air Balloon Rodeo has become a staple of Steamboat in the Summertime, we call it “Rainbow Weekend”. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, start your day at Bald Eagle Lake for a spectacular early-morning affair with over 25 hot air balloons rise softly from the mist and drift over the Yampa Valley.

Saturday evening, the sky will glow with tethered balloons and hum with live music from Howelsen Hill in downtown Steamboat Springs.

Approximately 9/10 of a mile south of Walton Creek Road on Highway 40. There is NO PUBLIC PARKING at the event. *FREE TRANSPORTATION IS PROVIDED FROM THE MEADOWS PARKING LOT. There will be vendors selling souvenirs, coffee and breakfast items on the launch field so plan to come on down and check out the balloons inflating.

*Parking is FREE for the Saturday and Sunday morning. Park at the Meadows parking lot on Pine Grove Road. Transportation from the Meadows Lot to the event is also FREE.

Due to the event's convenient location on the edge of town, we encourage spectators walk, ride their bikes or take the shuttle from the hotel or lodge.

For Tunes & Balloons at Howelsen Hill, we also encourage utilizing FREE local transportation to get you downtown. Parking is available near Howelsen Hill, but is VERY limited. Plan to walk or ride your bike and enjoy all that downtown Steamboat has to offer.
