Rise Up Hot Air Balloon Festival

A hot-air balloon continuously brings happiness to every age group. Since Willy has begun flying his “Coulee Balloon” over our beautiful city, it has put a smile on so many faces, it is a much-needed time in history. Hot air balloons in the sky continue to capture the imagination of people and fill both the viewer and the rider with peace. The idea of a festival is to bring eyes to our beautiful city, as the balloons will showcase our beautiful landscape, with balloons of joy in flight. Along with this will be an opportunity for everyone to celebrate the spirit of living in Medicine Hat and the surrounding area.

This festival will bring everyone (especially families) together in Medicine Hat at no cost to witness the balloons flying over our beautiful landscape. Spectators can bring a lawn chair near the launch site, sit back, and view the whole process from set up to balloons in-flight. The Friday and Saturday night Glow will be held at Kin Coulee Park with food truck vendors on-site showcasing our little oasis in Southern Alberta.

We plan to carry out a 4-day balloon festival. This will involve multiple hot air balloons showcasing their balloon with daily sunrise and sunset flights. This will also include a spectacular glow event on Friday and Saturday night at sunset. This plan will be possible with the help of very experienced pilots flying their balloons.
