Description
The South's oldest balloon event and the United States' only long distance hot air balloon race will begin (weather permitting) with a mass ascension of 30 bright and colorful hot air balloons. If the weather conditions are too windy or storms are forecast, the take off will be postponed until conditions are acceptable. 43rd year. Please check with Balloon Race Headquarters to confirm that the balloons are flying and get more information about where they will be located.

Description
Balloon events will take place in various fields near the middle of Helen. While the majority of balloons will use the launch field, a few balloons will launch in various places around town.
Go across Chattahoochee river at Cool River Tubing. Immediately after crossing the river turn left. Go through entrance gate. After going through gate, the road will fork. Take fork to the left. In 100 yards you will arrive at the lunch field on your right. Keep driving for PUBLIC PARKING. Public Parking is on right just past the samll creek. The road is ONE WAY. Please exit out of the EXIT gate.
